Church Membership: Are you thinking about taking the next step in your journey of faith? Have you ever considered making a public profession of your faith by officially joining the church? In a day-and-age when people are becoming less and less willing to officially join things (political parties, social clubs, etc.), joining the church has certainly become a counter-cultural statement – to clearly say “This is where I belong and this is what I believe.” If you are curious about what this might look like, please speak with Rev Brad to discuss with you both what it means and what it entails!

Save the Date! Saturday, November 29th (9:00 am–12:00 pm) is our first Advent event of the season! This year we’re adding to our Cookies & Christmas tradition by decorating both the sanctuary and Christmas cookies. It is planned to be a simple, joy-filled morning of teamwork that all-ages are encouraged to take part in! Through the natural conversation and laughter that arises when we all work together as a church family, “Deck the Halls” is sure to become one of those special and memorable moments – not just of the holiday season – but possibly of the whole year!

The Huntington Society’s amaryllis fundraising campaign is underway. These kits, selling at $17 each, make great gifts at Christmas time, especially for those hard-to-buy for people on your list. These kits include a bulb, soil, pot, and regrowing instructions, all in an attractive retail box with some background information on Huntington’s disease. These are indoor blooming flowering plants that will brighten up anyone’s winter. See either Stephen or Janet-Rose Hurst after church today (or call at 888-3013) to buy one today!

Join us here for “Step into Christmas”, Friday, December 5th at 7pm. Come enjoy the music of TSSK & The Silvertones under the direction of Christa McDougall. Admission by donation
JOURNEY to BETHLEHEM

On Sunday evening, Dec. 14 at 7:00, our SPC Choir and guests will be presenting an evening of Advent and Christmas music. The evening will consist of readings, anthems, hymns, carols and instrumental music, depicting the ‘journey’ from the time of the Old Testament prophets to the night of Christ’s birth in Bethlehem. Watch for more info re this special evening. A freewill offering will be received in support of the PEI Cancer Centre. Help us spread the news by sharing with family and friends!

An update from our Finance & Property committee as we approach Advent: we will begin once again by setting up our pledge tree to help us visually track our progress. It’s always exciting to see the tree start to “bloom” as your support is displayed. Last year, we started what we hope will become a new tradition, by hanging a star in remembrance of someone special who may be no longer with us, or someone you may want to acknowledge with a silent prayer. We encourage you to participate with this gift, regardless of whether you choose the pledge option or not.

SUNDAY SCHOOL PWS&D
Our Sunday School Children are raising funds for PWS&D. They have chosen to support the Sowing the Seeds of Food Security in the Gifts of Change Booklet. (Page 6). Subsistence farmers in developing countries work hard on small plots of land to provide food for their families. You can help these farmers by purchasing a paper goat ($5.00) the next two weeks. The funds raised will be forward to purchase real goat(s). $60.00 provides one goat for income and nutrition.

Have you signed up to receive emails from the church? It’s a quick and easy way to stay connected with your church family! Speak to Rev. Brad or our church administrator Cheri for more information
